Cans With A Cause #8.08

Hello Lovers, and welcome to another Woman Crush Wednesday! To get you through this hump day we’re going to talk about the trailblazing team of women that are revolutionising the beer industry with their socially-conscious cans; introducing The Sparkke Change Beverage Company.

If you haven’t heard of them, then pull up a seat and get comfy, darling, cause we’re about to restore your faith in humanity. Sparkke is the love child of social activism and beer brewing innovation – an Australian owned company that’s all about – you guessed it – ‘sparkking’ change!

We’re a for purpose alcohol company that produces award winning 100% natural brews and wine. At heart, we’re social activists demanding more from Australia’s beer industry. We’re a genuinely progressive social enterprise and we raise awareness and funds for important social issues.

Can I get an R-E-S-P-E-C-T up in here?!

The company is spearheaded by Agi Gajic; one of about 3 Australian female head brewers under 30. “We realised it’s a totally new way to tackle social issues… We want to get people talking about important issues in relaxed settings where the real conversations happen – and at the same time get a smile or two.” Gajic said.

As well as providing high quality brews with an edge of social-activism, the company is unquestionably dedicated to making a difference and doing good. They donate 10 per cent of all direct profits, plus 4 per cent of channel sales to the organisations’ supporting the cause of the can.

“We put our money where our beliefs and values are.”

Australia’s beer industry is worth around $4.3 billion p.a. If big player breweries donated just half of that percentage, that would equate to around a quarter of a billion dollars every year to make a change – imagine the difference that would make!
