Hello lovers, welcome to 2021. We’d like to send you a big (Covid safe) virtual kiss in thanks for supporting us over these very challenging months. Providing a space for our local and wider LGBTQ+ community to thrive and connect is our purpose, and despite the changing landscape we now operate our business under, it is with great privilege we are able to continue doing what we love.
With the recent Sydney outbreaks, we ask patrons and staff alike to respect the current restrictions outlined by the NSW Government. That means things are a little different to how The Impy can operate, so here is what you can expect and a guideline for all patrons:
a) If you have been in close contact with a recent known case, or have cold/flu like symptoms – we request you skip this disco, get tested and join us another time. We love you, but also need to put the health and safety of our community first. There will always be another party!
b) Wherever possible and whatever the occasion, reservations are preferred – this helps the team prepare for your visit and ensure that sufficient space for your group is reserved. We require all patrons who enter our venue to register upon arrival. Hand sanitiser stations are positioned around every level for regular use throughout your visit.
c) Once inside the venue, a member of staff will show you to your table – please stay seated at your allocated table and do not mingle with other patrons outside of your group. Chair dancing is highly encouraged, sadly we cannot provide a dance-floor just yet (but watch this space!)
d) On ground floor (Main Bar and Priscillas) we offer fabulous drag and live entertainment every Wednesday – Sunday. Check out our new Drag N’ Dine show GLITZ & GLAM on Friday’s and Saturday’s (ends 27th February). Bookings are essential for all events.
e) Imperial UP also has specific sitting times to ensure we can safely accommodate as many of you as possible. If you would like to stay on after your allocated time, we will do our very best to be flexible, so please have a chat with the host on arrival.

Sanitation – sanitation stations available to all patrons and all surfaces and tables thoroughly sanitised after each visit
Space – we are adhering to the restrictions around total guests per space and per square meter
Signage – increased signage and safety distance markers
